Canon (Emeritus) Ronald Branche

Priest in Charge

Canon Ronald Branche was born in Belmont, and attended the St. Margarets’ Boys Anglican and the Modern Academy. He worked at the Penny Bank, corner Duke and Charlotte Street where he met his wife, Heather. There were married at St. Margaret of Antioch Church on 26th November, 1972. The Branches have one son, Kieron.

On leaving the bank Canon Branche worked at the the St. Micheal’s School For Boys and then at R.J. Shannon agents for Cash Registers and Accounting. Following in his uncle’s footsteps he ventured into the Health Food Business, importing Vitamins and other Supplements in addition natural jucies and natural foods.

Canon was President of the St. Margaret Anglican Young People’s Association, and Diocesan Youth Representative for Trinidad in the province of the West-Indies. Therefore it was not surprising to family and friends when he answered the call to the ordained Priesthood. He served as Deacon at St. Michaels from 1991 before he was ordained priest in 1993 (October 28th 1993). He was then sent to St. James the Just, Sangre Grande in 1996 and served for six years. Three years in Seminary at St.John, Viannes, Mt. St. Benedict studied additionally six months during 1991-1992 at Codrigton College, Barbados before he accepted an offer to serve at St. George the Martyr Tortola, BVI ,where he served for thirteen years. Canon Branche and his wife Heather returned home 1st October 2015 and has been posted at his home parish St. Margaret of Antioch Anglican Church and St. Jerome Mission in Gonzales as Priest in Charge.
