Holy Innocents’ Day 2017 was indeed a soul-stirring one. There was a significant increase in the number of children attending the service in which we are truly grateful. In total, there were approximately 50 persons in attendance more than half being children 12 and under.
The children were treated with goodie bags, toys, cake and ice-cream, all prepared by the Mother’s Union. The children were also given the opportunity to have their Christmas presents blessed by the priest.
FATHER’S MESSAGE
Holy Innocents’ Day is very important in our church’s calendar. It is important because it is the time we remember and pay homage to all the innocent babies killed by the wicked king named Herod. It is important that parents teach their children to pray as it grooms their spiritual lives at a tender age and also prepares them for confirmation.
I commission parents to allow their children to use their talents within the church for the building up of the kingdom of GOD. I also hope to see an even greater attendance in next year’s Holy Innocents’ Day service.
