St. Margaret’s Parish hosted their 3rd Biennial Tea Party and Easter Bonnet Parade on Sunday 3rd April, 2016 at the Melville Memorial Girls/St. Margaret’s Boys School compound. This fundraiser was in aid of the rebuilding of the Parish Hall and Office which was destroyed by fire in May 2006.
Although there were two other competitions in the Port of Spain area on that day, the Easter Bonnet Parade was oversubscribed as over 40 contestants from various parts of Trinidad vie for the top spots of Easter Prince & Princess. It was definitely a stiff competition, as judges and patrons were blown away by the splendor and creativity of the costumes proudly displayed by smiling children. Everyone felt like a winner even if they did not place the first three spots in their category. Special thanks to Ms. Ruth Adams Mendez, our advisor, our judges and all our sponsors who contributed to the success of this event.
